Ancient Woodland Inventory Update - Protected Landscape Consultation
Sites within Protcted Landscapes that are being considered in connection with the update of the current Ancient Woodland Inventory.
As part of Natural England's update for the Ancient Woodland Inventory, NEYEDC generated a long-established woodland GIS layer comprising extant woodlands that were also present on the first generation (Epoch 1) Ordnance Survey maps from the mid-19th century. This layer was cross-referenced with the current AWI to find woodlands that may require review for the updated AWI, and sites for potential addition and removal (including boundary amendments) have been identified. Each polygon has a unique identifier and is categorised as under review for addition, removal or as long-established wood pasture and parkland.
Please note: This dataset is intended for review of potential amendments only. Until the publication of the updated Ancient Woodland Inventory by Natural England, any data shared in respect to this project does not supersede the current AWI and has no standing in planning or other related processes.
