Housing Tenure and Occupancy Census 2021

Housing Tenure refers to households by tenure - simplified here into owner occupation,, social rented,, and private rented. The thematic maps refer to the percentage of households in each of these tenures by Lower Super Output Area. Similarly, the thematic maps for occupancy refer to households who are deemed to be either over-occupying (not enough rooms) or under-occupying (more rooms than they need) their dwellings. Clicking on an LSOA reveals the underlying data. For occupancy, and indicator of -1 or -2 means the household has either one room less than they need, or 2 or more rooms less than they need. To calculate the percentages,, these two figures were added together. The definition of ''rooms'' does not include bathrooms, toilets, halls or landings, or kitchens(so mostly refers to bedrooms).
