Problem: The basic information needed to make initial decisions develop biomass projects (like fiber cost, availability, species, and ownership) is widely dispersed and difficult to gather. The result is that Canadian bioenergy projects are more difficult and slower to develop than they otherwise would be and Canadian forest resources are under-utilized.
Objective: Create a GIS-based feedstock-based information hub of vital market intelligence. Make this available to bioenergy project developers, debt providers and other stakeholders. Increase rate of bioenergy project development in Canada.
